Coen Barendsen

Coen Co-heads the Benelux Mid-Cap team at Abenex.

Coen was born in the Netherlands. He lives with his family in Amsterdam and comes from an entrepreneurial family. His professional career began in 2007 at HAL Investments, one of the largest family offices in the Netherlands. Thereafter he worked for Heineken at the M&A department being part of a small team that was responsible for all acquisitions and divestitures for Heineken worldwide. In 2017 he joined the mid-cap team of AAC Capital where he has been responsible for multiple portfolio companies in different sectors. Coen joined the Abenex team in 2023 to help build-out Abenex’ Benelux presence. He holds a MSc in Econometrics from the University of Amsterdam.
